“The Odyssey, Part Eleven: Siege”

In "The Odyssey, Part Eleven: Siege," Wonder Woman stands at a fateful threshold, drawn toward a door left by Nemesis as her allies—Artemis, Cheetah, and Giganta—fight desperately to stop the Morrigan’s advance. Written by J. Michael Straczynski and Phil Hester, with art by Don Kramer and Eduardo Pansica, this pivotal issue sees Diana confronted by a terrifying vision of herself as a warlord leading the dead against heroes she once called friends, leaving her shaken and on the brink of a new, horrifying transformation. The cover by Josh Middleton captures the moment’s intensity, a striking image of Diana’s inner turmoil.

Nemesis berates the Morrigan for failing to capture Diana and gives them one last chance. Diana, along with Artemis, Cheetah and Giganta arrive to capure them, but Diana looks entranced as she steps up to the door through which Nemesis just left. The others battle and Cheetah and Giganta are slain, but at the sight of Ajax, Bellona drops out of the Morrigan. Diana is shaken by a vision that shows her leading the world’s war dead against everyone else. She kills Superman and other superheroes, then wakes up terrified and about to be added to the ranks of the Morrigan.
