“The Maniacs of Mercury”

In "The Maniacs of Mercury," Wonder Woman faces a personal challenge when her heart feels unreciprocated by Steve Trevor, prompting her to seek guidance from her mother. With a gift of enchanted mirrors—once used to outwit Hercules—Wonder Woman uses their power to create twisted reflections of herself, testing Steve’s loyalty in a moment of emotional vulnerability. Written by Charles Moulton and brought to life with dynamic art by Ross Andru and Mike Esposito, the issue features a striking cover by Nick Cardy.

Frustrated because Steve Trevor only has eyes for Wonder Woman and not Diana Prince, Diana asks her mother for advice. The queen gives her some magic mirrors that she once used to trick her old suitor Hercules. The mirrors transform Wonder Woman into distorted reflections of herself that make Steve unsure that he really wants to be with her.
