Wolverine by Daniel Way: The Complete Collection #4
In "Weapon XI Part 1," Logan confronts a chilling revelation: Daken has joined Osborn's Avengers, and with him, a web of secrets tied to the Weapon X program and the powerful Hudson family. Fury unveils the hidden lineage connecting Logan—born James Howlett—to the Hudsons, tracing back to Frederick and Elias, and revealing how their bloodline, including a secret son born from Frederick’s affair, shaped the creation of Wolverine and the rise of Romulus’ ultimate weapon. Written by Daniel Way and illustrated by Doug Braithwaite, with inks by Bill Reinhold and colors by Andy Troy, this pivotal issue is grounded in legacy, betrayal, and the dark roots of a man who was never just a weapon. The cover, by Simone Bianchi and Andrea Silvestri, captures the tension of a man caught between his past and a future he never asked for.

Fury tells Logan that Daken has joined Osborn's Avengers. Fury then reveals the secrets of Weapon X and a family named Hudson controlled by Romulus. Frederick and Elias Hudson formed the Hudson Bay Company, and their sister, Elizabeth, married John Howlett. Logan (or, rather, James) is her son. Frederick had an affair with his secretary, which produced a son, Frederick Jr. Junior had three sons: Truett, who became The Professor who created Wolverine; Victor, who disappeared; and James, who became Guardian. Fury believes that Daken, another Hudson descendant, is Romulus' ultimate Weapon X.
