Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #3
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeWolverine and Kitty Pryde #3 is the midpoint of Chris Claremont's long-awaited return to one of his own signature X-Men stories, filling in a narrative gap that had stood open for roughly forty years — the uncharted stretch between the end of the 1984–85 Kitty Pryde and Wolverine miniseries and the duo's reappearance in Uncanny X-Men #192. As the issue in which the series' central threat, the mini-Sentinel ambush, reaches full force and the solicitation promises 'a shocking change in the status quo,' it represents Claremont actively retrofitting canonical Marvel history in real time, adding beats that retroactively explain who Kitty, Logan, and their extended circle became by the time they rejoined the X-Men. The presence of Amiko Kobayashi, Mariko Yashida, and Carmen Pryde together in a single life-or-death crisis deepens the emotional architecture of Wolverine's Japan years in ways the original miniseries left unexplored.

The 2025 series grew out of a recognition — articulated publicly by editor Mark Basso — that a clear gap existed between the Ogun storyline's conclusion and Wolverine and Kitty's return to New York in Uncanny X-Men #192, and that Claremont himself was uniquely positioned to fill it. Claremont, who co-created Kitty Pryde and shaped Wolverine into the character readers recognize today during his sixteen-year Uncanny X-Men run, described the project as the story of what happened between those two endpoints. He partnered with artist Damian Couceiro, known for X-Men Unlimited and Groot, while veteran X-Men artist Alan Davis supplied covers across the run — a creative lineup designed to honor the visual and narrative register of the original 1980s material.
