Wolverine and Kitty Pryde #2
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeWolverine and Kitty Pryde #2 (2025) is the second chapter of Chris Claremont's self-described 'interquel' — a five-issue limited series set in the continuity gap between the final panel of the 1984–85 Kitty Pryde and Wolverine mini-series and the duo's return to the X-Men in Uncanny X-Men #192. That forty-year-old gap had never been addressed in-canon, making the series — and each of its issues — a genuine piece of retroactive X-Men history authored by the writer who created it. Issue #2 introduces the Snow Samurai, a new supernatural antagonist whose appearance deepens the mythological relationship between Wolverine, Mariko Yashida, and Kitty Pryde, and a mysterious artifact connected to Mariko's family ties those three characters together in ways previously unseen. As a Claremont-penned addition to the foundational Japan arc that turned Kitty Pryde into Shadowcat, this issue carries the weight of both canonical expansion and character legacy.

The broader series was announced on January 21, 2025, with Claremont describing it as the story of what happened between the close of the original mini-series and the characters' reappearance in Uncanny X-Men. Editor Mark Basso framed the project around two standing narrative mysteries: why Kitty's emotional state was so dramatically different upon returning to the X-Men, and what became of her father Carmen Pryde during that period. Damian Couceiro, whose prior Marvel work included X-Men Unlimited and Groot, was selected as interior artist, while veteran X-Men artist Alan Davis was brought on to provide covers across all five issues — a pairing designed to give the series a visual bridge between the classic Claremont era and the modern day. Issue #2 shipped on May 28, 2025, with a final-order cutoff of April 28, 2025.
