Wild Bill Hickok encounters a con man selling "Dr. Bradley's Wonder Medicine" in town, a supposed cure-all that actually contains worthless ingredients. When the charlatan's scheme is exposed and he attempts to flee, Hickok pursues him and his accomplices across the desert near Nugget Gulch, where they have hidden stolen gold from a previous theft. After a tense nighttime confrontation with the thieves guarding their loot, Hickok recovers the gold and captures the criminals.
