“The Magic Locket”

In 1946, the re-building of a centuries-old castle stirs dark secrets from 1676, when Lord Loncreagh died swearing no false heir would ever claim his home. When mysterious attacks threaten the current lord, Ibis uncovers a shocking truth: the man claiming nobility isn’t a true Loncreagh at all, but a royal appointee. With the Ibistick in hand, the Prince summons the ghost of the original lord for a final reckoning. Written by Bill Woolfolk and illustrated by Kurt Schaffenberger, this eerie tale of legacy and deception features a haunting cover by C. C. Beck.

In 1676, a Lord Loncreagh was killed defending his castle and swore on his deathbed that no one but a true Loncreagh would ever own his castle. Now, in 1946, the current Lord Loncreagh is re-building the castle, but faces mysterious attempts to kill him. The answer is discovered by Ibis when he discovers that the current owner is not a true Loncreagh, but received his nobility from the King. Using the Ibistick, the Prince materializes the true Lord Loncreagh for a final confrontation.
