Forbes, a gifted violinist loses his hands in a tragic accident but is the beneficiary of a remarkable graft of new hands. When Forbes discovers he cannot play with the hands (because they aren't his own), Ibis uses the Ibistick to make the hands able to play. Unfortunately, the grafted hands once belonged to an executed murderer, and the spirit of that man takes over Forbes, creating an unusual foe for the Man of Magic.
