In "Idol of Evil," two adventurers desecrate a remote temple dedicated to the stone idol Kubla, stealing the serpent of diamonds that adorns his neck. Soon after, they find themselves hunted through the dense jungle by a force they can't explain—Kubla, now awakened and alive, driven by ancient fury.

In "Fear of the Witch," Richard, still grieving his late fiancée Beth, begins a new life with his wife Janet—until strange nights begin to unfold. Janet, by day his loving wife, is haunted each evening by the lingering spirit of Beth, whose presence grows stronger with every passing night. As Richard struggles to hold onto both women in his heart, he makes a desperate decision: to take a job as a meteorologist at the North Pole, where the endless cycle of light and dark might finally offer him a way to escape the haunting.
