# Warpath #2 (1955) The issue contains a story titled "The Monster" in which young braves encounter a mysterious, enormous creature on the plains—described as three times the height of a man, belching black smoke and fire, with six legs and huge fangs. When the braves report their sighting to Chief Painted Desert, he fears the monster may be ridden by a whiteman, threatening the tribe's survival. Spotted Horse, the tribe's fastest rider, volunteers to investigate and intercept the creature, but is killed in ambush by Little Cloud, who seeks to claim Spotted Horse's bride and scalp as his own.
