Kantos Kan finds the secret cave of the Boora Witch and realizes that the old crone has been controlling Dejah's recent destructive actions. He brings her body back to Helium just as Dejah is preparing to execute her father and grandfather. Kantos beheads the witch's body which breaks her control over Dejah. Ashamed over her weakness at being possessed so easily and feeling dishonored by her actions, Dejah exiles herself and leaves Helium in the dead of night.
