"The Goof-Offs" follows the misfit crew of the Happy Hanna as they engage in combat operations against enemy forces, proving themselves to be highly effective soldiers despite their unconventional reputation. A gunner discovers a thin spot in Nazi armor plating during the initial assault, which the tank squadron commander recognizes as vital intelligence. When the commander learns the gunner's engine has malfunctioned and spare parts are unavailable, he disguises the critical tactical information as a routine maintenance report, allowing the crew to transmit the discovery to headquarters and potentially influence the outcome of the campaign.
