Walt Disney's Comics and Stories #6 (234)
In "Riding the Pony Express," Donald Duck and his nephews join a reenactment of the historic Pony Express, only to find themselves in a real-life emergency when Donald intercepts a crashed plane and takes on the urgent delivery of genuine government documents. Written and illustrated by Carl Barks, this classic tale blends historical flair with the usual chaos of Donald’s misadventures, all rendered in the signature style of the era. The cover by Tony Strobl captures the spirit of the ride, a 10-cent adventure from 1960.

Donald and his nephews volunteer to assist with the replaying of the pony express with Donald delivering the mail. The mail is planned to be fake, but Donald encounters a crashed plane and agrees to urgently deliver real government mail containing secret documents for the pilot. Unfortunately, the others involved in the pony express replay are not aware of Donald carrying real mail and proceed to ambush Donald at the pass as part of the re-enactment.
