# Voodoo #17 (1954) This anthology issue features the story "Ape's Laughter," in which an ape-like creature recounts his torturous captivity by humans at a research foundation. Kept in an iron cage and subjected to humiliation while learning human language and behavior, the ape eventually escapes and seeks revenge on those who imprisoned him. The creature orchestrates an elaborate plan to murder his captors, using cunning and disguise to lure them to their deaths before being apprehended by police.
