Voodoo #4
An expedition to decipher Mayan glyphs in Mexico discovers a Rosetta Stone-like artifact, but their mission must remain secret. A jester sent by a king encounters the sorcerer Merlo and is imprisoned in a desolate, frozen castle alongside other victims. Captain Bog is assigned to the Dundally Rotten Area in bog country, where supernatural forces—mysterious creatures with "dead eyes of ancient evil"—threaten the soldiers, and a woman's prophecy about their doom begins to unfold.
Pierre Lafonte's obsession with escaping death leads him to seek out Moltane, a mysterious drum maker on a remote island rumored to possess instruments encoded with the secret to eternal life. But he's not the only one after Moltane's prized drums—the cunning Adana has her own designs on the drum maker's power, and Pierre must navigate a treacherous jungle filled with sorcery, traps, and rivals if he hopes to claim his prize. What Pierre doesn't realize is that every drum carries a dark price far steeper than he could have imagined.
An archaeologist's discovery of mysterious Mayan glyphs sets Director Kane on an expedition to the lost city of Chintzin-Iltz, where a midnight alignment reveals an ancient secret—one Kane foolishly speaks aloud, awakening the feathered serpent Quetzacoatl from its thousand-year slumber. Now Tom must race against time to save Joyce and stop the creature's rampage across the Yucatan, armed only with the very knowledge Kane used to unleash the horror.
In medieval times, a greedy king seeks the sorcerer Merlo to craft precious gems, but the magician demands a terrible price—the soul of the king's wife, Lyga. When the king agrees to the dark bargain, he sets in motion a curse that will haunt him far beyond his greed, as the vengeful spirit of his queen returns to reclaim what was stolen from her.
In 1921 Ireland, Captain Anthony Denter arrives with his bride Pamela to a remote bog country—the very district where his ancestor once ordered a brutal massacre of peasants whose bodies were cast into the mire. When their carriage breaks down and their companion Sykes vanishes into the bog with a terrible cry, the Captain and Pamela realize with mounting dread that something ancient and vengeful has been waiting in those cursed waters for a Denter to return. As supernatural bog creatures begin to close in, the sins of the past threaten to consume the present.
