“Sound of Mourning”

In "Sound of Mourning," newlyweds Richard and Sylvia Porter enjoy a quiet beach honeymoon—until a crone’s chilling prophecy foretells Sylvia’s death the next day. When the prediction comes true, Richard is consumed by grief, only to be denied his wish to die by the same crone, who instead condemns him to live out his full life span, beginning with a miraculous rescue from drowning. The Iger Shop team delivers this haunting tale of fate and sorrow in a 1954 issue, with cover art by the same hand.
