Venomverse Reborn #[nn]
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeVenomverse Reborn (2024) marks the first time Harry Osborn's version of Venom — the fan-favorite Lethal Protector from Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man 2 — crossed over into Marvel Comics continuity, establishing Earth-1048 as a formally recognised node of the symbiote multiverse. The series also introduced Al Ewing's 'Eventuality,' a cosmic amalgamation of every Eddie Brock across the multiverse who rose to become the King in Black, deepening the philosophical architecture Ewing had been building in his ongoing Venom run. Structurally, the anthology continued Marvel's practice — stretching back through Edge of Venomverse (2017) and Extreme Venomverse (2023) — of using short-story anthologies to simultaneously plant seeds for future storylines and celebrate the breadth of the symbiote mythos across genres, from horror to historical fantasy. The series fed directly into the Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse crossover launched in 2025.

Announced by Marvel in March 2024 and launched June 19 of that year, Venomverse Reborn was conceived as a four-issue anthology with each issue structured around a framing story by ongoing Venom architect Al Ewing (pencilled by Danilo S. Beyruth) bookending standalone symbiote tales by a rotating roster of writers and artists. Editor Jordan White shepherded the project, with cover art by Tony Daniel across all four issues. Ewing described his role as giving him the privilege of seeing every new 'symbiote sensation' arrive in his inbox before anyone outside editorial — positioning the framing sequences as connective tissue for the larger Venom cosmic mythology he was constructing. The series ran from June through September 2024 and was later collected in a single trade paperback edition.
Trivia · 8 facts
- Issue #1 (June 19, 2024) contains the first comic-book appearance of Harry Osborn as Venom from Insomniac Games' Marvel's Spider-Man 2 (Earth-1048), written by Christos Gage with art by Greg Land and Jay Leisten; this marks the first time that game-universe's Venom variant entered printed Marvel canon.
- The framing story running through all four issues, 'Five Questions,' was written by Al Ewing with art by Danilo S. Beyruth; it debuts the Eventuality — the apotheosised, King-in-Black form of every Eddie Brock across the multiverse who ascended to godhood — as a new cosmic concept in Marvel's symbiote mythology.
- Issue #1 also features 'Host,' a horror anthology story by Benjamin Percy (writer) and Brian Level (artist/inker) with colours by Ruth Redmond, depicting a Venom variant methodically eliminating a roster of Avengers.
- Host Rider — the alternate-universe fusion of Robbie Reyes's Ghost Rider and the Venom symbiote — first appeared in Edge of Venomverse #3 (September 2017, written by Simon Spurrier, art by Tigh Walker); his listing in the Venomverse Reborn catalog reflects a reappearance or variant across the run, not a debut here.
- Kid Venom (Kintaro of Earth-91029) — a Heian-period Japanese samurai bonded to the symbiote Clinter, created by manga artist Taigami — first appeared in the backup story of Death of the Venomverse #2 (2023); his appearance in Venomverse Reborn is a continuation of that character thread, not his first appearance.
- Issue #2 introduced a Viking-era Venom variant by writer Phillip Kennedy Johnson and artist John McCrea, one of the 'first appearances' Marvel's promotional materials highlighted for the series' opening two issues.
- The series ran four issues (June–September 2024), edited by Jordan White, with all cover art by Tony Daniel; a collected trade paperback edition followed.
- Venomverse Reborn directly preceded and set the narrative stage for the 2025 sequel crossover Spider-Verse vs. Venomverse, continuing the Eventuality thread introduced in Ewing's framing sequences.
