Venom: Funeral Pyre #2

Part two of the Funeral Pyre trilogy finds Venom front and center in a brutal mid-street brawl, his massive symbiote form locked in vicious combat with a blue-armored figure — the newly introduced Pyre — caught in the blinding spotlight of a vehicle bearing down on them, while the Punisher crouches atop the truck above, armed and watching the chaos unfold below. Tom Lyle's cover art crackles with kinetic energy, staging all three combatants in a tight, tension-loaded composition that makes the "High Tension" chapter title feel entirely earned. With Carl Potts writing and Lyle's linework inked by himself, this 1993 Marvel limited series was clearly swinging for something grittier than the average symbiote outing.
