Vampirella: Morning in America #2
In "Chapter Five: Monkey Wine (That Which Enlivens)," Vampirella grapples with the consequences of her desperate choices, haunted by memories lost and promises unkept. As Adam mourns his father's death, Vampirella confronts the fallout of her actions—especially after Shroud's shocking sacrifice of Toomey to unleash the monstrous Bane. Written by Kurt Busiek and illustrated by Louis La Chance, with inks by John Nyberg and letters by Kevin Cunningham and Richard Howell, this 1991 Harris Comics issue delivers a tense, character-driven chapter in Vampirella’s ongoing struggle. The haunting cover by Michael Wm. Kaluta captures the story’s eerie, surreal tone.
