Vampirella #25
Warren Magazine's Vampirella #25 (June 1973) announced its jump to full color in bold fashion, and Enrich Torres delivers a cover that earns the fanfare — a powerful, loincloth-clad warrior raises a severed lion's head triumphantly beneath a massive blood-red moon while a second lion crouches at his feet and a bloodied axe hangs at his side. The cover copy calls him "Nimrod — Mightiest of All Killers," and Torres renders him with a raw, painterly intensity that suits the savage scene perfectly. Inside, Bill DuBay's story "What Price Love" gets the José González treatment, making this a fine showcase for one of Warren's most distinguished artistic collaborators.
