“Boy Meets Supergirl”

The cover of Valor #2 (December 1992) makes the matchup unmistakable: Supergirl hovers menacingly overhead, hurling a massive chunk of debris downward at Valor, who is crumpled on the pavement in front of a LexCorp building. The "vs." framing and the sheer scale of that descending boulder set an urgent, hard-hitting tone that M. D. Bright and Al Gordon pull off with real dynamism. Robert Loren Fleming's story, titled "Boy Meets Supergirl," promises that this collision between two heavy-hitters is anything but a friendly introduction.
