Valentine #15 April 1967
In "I Can Only Give You Everything," Frances finds herself caught between duty and desire when a misplaced file brings her into the orbit of the charming but reckless Desmond. As her new role as his secretary unfolds, the line between professional distance and personal connection blurs—especially when Mark reappears, offering a chance to return to what was familiar. With emotions running high and loyalties tested, Frances must choose between the man she thought she knew and the one who’s unexpectedly revealed himself. Art by Félix Mas captures every quiet tension and fleeting glance in this poignant 1967 tale from IPC’s Valentine.

Collecting sales files for Mark, Frances runs into Desmond and drops everything. She is smitten, despite his playboy reputation. But a confidential file is missing, a sackable offence. Frances finds the file was accidentally picked up by Desmond. He then asks Frances to be his secretary and she accepts, despite Mark urging her to stay. But the new job isn’t what Frances hopes. She works while Desmond plays. When she runs into Mark, he asks her back and says he wants to marry her. Frances’ resignation prompts Desmond to declare his love and she must decide. Naturally it’s Desmond.
