As Usagi struggles to shore up the village from being flooded, he sees a Kappa attack and kill one of the villagers. Pursuing the creature, Usagi finds a female Kappa and her infant child, but she is peaceful and identifies the killer as a renegade Kappa. Usagi and the female Kappa bait a trap for the renegade using cucumbers, but during the fight the renegade breaks Usagi's sword arm. The female Kappa defeats the renegade and banishes him, then heals Usagi's wound.
