Usagi Yojimbo #103
In "The Darkness and the Soul, Part 1," a mysterious illness strikes two young lives in the quiet countryside, leaving even the compassionate priest Jizonobu baffled. Written and illustrated by Stan Sakai, this issue continues the richly drawn world of Usagi Yojimbo with quiet tension and deep atmosphere, all rendered in Sakai’s signature style—cover by Stan Sakai.

Jizonobu, the kindly priest of the area, is brought in to heal a young boy named Jubei, but the symptoms are like nothing the priest has seen. Later, Jizonobu learns that Ibaraki has cured Jubei, just as Lord Goyo comes to the temple with his daughter, who has been stricken by the same malady.
