Penciled and inked by William Weltman, the story blends eerie horror with pulp flair, while Norman Saunders' cover captures the unsettling spectacle with a haunting, stylized image of the dog and its spectral pursuers.
In "The Sea of the Dead," Captain Bullard boards a ghost ship haunted by the very souls he once abandoned to the deep. As the vessel sails through a silent, endless sea, he confronts the faces of those he failed—each a reminder of a past he can’t escape.
In "The Serpent Queen," mountain climbers stumble upon the forgotten realm of Shanri, a realm ruled by a legendary serpent queen whose allure is as deadly as it is mesmerizing. Drawn in by her beauty and the mystery of her domain, they find themselves entangled in a fate far beyond their reckoning.
In the eerie shadows of a 1952 stage show, the crooked O'Flaherty and Flitcher try to tame a resurrected dog for a trick act—only to find the dead aren’t done with their pet. As the floorboards creak with unseen footsteps and the air fills with the whisper of bones, the duo must dodge a relentless tide of skeletal zombies who won’t let the dog escape the afterlife.
