Les Challengers rencontrent Miklos, un plongeur devenu une éponge humaine. Son voisin Stacy promet un remède à l'état de Miklos, mais il aura besoin d'argent pour le faire. Miklos se dirige vers le centre-ville et commence à absorber toute la couleur, le son et même la force des Chall, alors que Stacy vole une banque. Abasourdi, Miklos erre dans un état second, absorbant l'eau d'une tonne et grossissant jusqu'à ce que les Challs jettent des somnifères dans un lac pour endormir Miklos. Miklos utilise ses capacités pour éteindre un feu de forêt et sauver un enfant, puis se faufile dans l'océan.
