This album collects one of the most consequential four-issue stretches in Silver Age Marvel history, delivering to French readers the debut of the entire Kree civilization across FF #64–67: first the ancient war-robot Kree Sentry 459, then the implacable Ronan the Accuser dispatched by the Supreme Intelligence to judge humanity, and finally the emergence of the golden being called 'Him' — the entity who would eventually become Adam Warlock — from his mysterious cocoon inside the Beehive. By packaging all four issues under one cover as 'La Citadelle,' Éditions Lug gave francophone readers a seamless, self-contained introduction to the Kree cosmos and the birth of one of Marvel's defining cosmic characters years before either concept had any wider cultural foothold outside North America. Éditions Lug, the Lyon-based publisher whose name derives from Lugdunum, the city's Roman name, launched the 'Une Aventure des Fantastiques' album line in April 1973 as an oversized softcover (21×28.5 cm) aimed at a youth readership, reprinting Stan Lee and Jack Kirby's Fantastic Four run in French translation. The series ran 43 issues through July 1987, with the editorial team of rédacteur en chef Marcel Navarro and directrice de publication Claude Vistel overseeing production during the mid-1970s period; as documented in the Grand Comics Database, Lug's in-house studio occasionally made visual retouches to the original pages. Issue #6 carries a dépôt légal of January 1975, placing its release at the start of that year, and bundles the four-part Kree–Citadelle–Beehive arc into a single narrative unit under the umbrella title 'La Citadelle.'
