A gaunt, wild-eyed Uncle Sam figure dominates this striking cover, his star-and-stripes outfit tattered and open as he reaches outward amid swirling red smoke, scattered syringes, a first-aid kit, and debris — all against a blood-red sky filled with distant aircraft. The unsettling tagline "TRUST IN US" anchors the image, carrying a pointed ambiguity that feels very much at home in Scott Snyder and Charles Soule's dystopian reimagining of a sealed-off America. Giuseppe Camuncoli's linework and colors give the whole scene a feverish, propaganda-poster energy that makes this 2023 issue genuinely hard to look away from.
