Uncanny X-Men #9
Against a blazing red background, a wild-eyed mutant wearing a torn X-Men shirt screams as crackling bolts of golden energy tear straight through him — while Psylocke, a blue-suited X-Man, and at least two other teammates are hurled violently through the air around him. Cover pencils by Giuseppe Camuncoli and inks by Roberto Poggi give the image a raw, kinetic urgency that perfectly suits the "Disassembled" arc from the creative team of Ed Brisson, Matthew Rosenberg, and Kelly Thompson. The issue also carries a respectful tribute banner for Stan Lee (1922–2018), a quiet but meaningful touch on what is otherwise an intensely charged piece of mutant drama.
