Uncanny X-Men #31
The stark, high-contrast cover by Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend commands attention immediately — a red-suited figure and a dark-clad opponent locked in a rooftop struggle, suspended over a grey cityscape with a bold concentric-circle motif radiating behind them. The minimalist palette of red, black, and white gives the confrontation an almost graphic-novel elegance that stands out on any shelf. Brian Michael Bendis and Bachalo's 2015 run on Uncanny X-Men was delivering some of the title's most visually adventurous work, and this issue's cover is a fine testament to that ambition.
