This issue was produced during Bendis's tenure as the primary writer of both Uncanny X-Men (Vol. 3) and All-New X-Men simultaneously, a dual-book structure that Marvel editorial used to explore the fallout of Avengers vs. X-Men from multiple angles. Editor Nick Lowe oversaw the title under Editor-in-Chief Axel Alonso. Regular series artist Chris Bachalo stepped aside for this issue, with Marco Rudy taking interior art duties — part of a rotating guest-artist pattern that included Kris Anka across issues #14–18 in the same collected volume. The cover was painted by Alexander Lozano, whose painterly style provided a visual contrast to both Bachalo's expressionism and Rudy's experimental layouts inside.
