Uncanny X-Men #29

The last will and testament of Charles Xavier takes center stage on this striking cover by Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend, where She-Hulk reads aloud from the document at a desk while a remarkable crowd presses in around her — Spider-Man, Captain America, the Thing, Iceman, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, and dozens more Marvel luminaries packed shoulder to shoulder in a scene that feels equal parts solemn and chaotic. It's a wonderfully ambitious composition that somehow makes an enormous cast feel intimate, anchored by that single lamp-lit desk. Brian Michael Bendis and Chris Bachalo's 2015 run was never short on ambition, and this issue's premise — the reading of Xavier's will — promises exactly the kind of sprawling, character-rich drama the series does so well.
