Uncanny X-Men #28
Magneto dominates this Kris Anka cover in his dark cloak and distinctive helmet, one gauntleted hand outstretched while the other holds what appears to be a crushed, mangled mass of red metal — a quietly chilling image that says everything about where his loyalties and methods stand. Anka's clean, restrained linework gives the composition an almost sculptural weight, letting Magneto's imposing silhouette do the heavy lifting. Brian Michael Bendis's run on Uncanny X-Men continues here in 2015, and this issue's cover promises the kind of morally complicated tension the series does so well.
