Ultimate X-Men #85

Part two of the five-part "Sentinels" arc finds Ultimate X-Men facing down towering pink-and-purple Sentinel machines, and Yanick Paquette's cover — inked by Serge LaPointe — puts the danger front and center: Wolverine drives his claws into one massive robot while a second Sentinel looms behind him, and Storm lies fallen in the foreground in her black costume, white hair splayed across the rubble. Robert Kirkman's run on the series continues to raise the stakes, and this image of mutant heroes overwhelmed by mechanical giants sets a tense, urgent tone for what promises to be a punishing story arc.
