Ultimate Spider-Man #130
Tied into the line-wide Ultimatum event, this 2009 installment delivers one of the most viscerally striking covers in the series' run — Spider-Man submerged underwater, arms outstretched and reaching desperately toward the surface as bubbles escape around him. Stuart Immonen's cover work captures a real sense of peril and helplessness, a far cry from the wall-crawler's usual confident acrobatics. With Brian Michael Bendis writing and Immonen handling interior art alongside inker Wade von Grawbadger and colorist Justin Ponsor, the creative team is firing on all cylinders during one of the Ultimate Universe's most turbulent chapters.
