The issue contains two stories. "Sabotage in The Hidden Enemy" depicts an aerial combat encounter where a large enemy bomber flips over like a fighter plane during combat, with the narrative following characters named Marge, Bud, and Candless at an airfield where a coded message has been received from Major Moan, ultimately revealing that sacrifices made in the air force are necessary. "3 Minutes" follows Air Force personnel scrambling to intercept an unidentified aircraft approaching U.S. airspace at high speed, with pilots standing by to launch in response to the threat.

The Unimportant Hero
8 pp · War

Air Force Corporal Bud Candless faces an agonizing choice: leave the service to provide for his wife and newborn son, or re-enlist in the XB-58 bomber crew he loves. When a fuel leak threatens his aircraft during a routine flight home, Candless's quick thinking and expertise save the plane and its crew—but the decision that follows tests whether he can truly walk away from the job only he can do. As his final weeks of service count down, a dangerous photo reconnaissance mission over the Bering Sea forces Candless to confront what it really means to serve his country.

A Taste of Fear
5 pp · War

A young captain flying a B-26 Martin Marauder over North Africa in 1943 struggles with his own fear, only to clash with Sergeant Hawkes, a brash turret gunner who despises anyone who shows it. When their damaged bomber forces the crew to bail out and trek through the desert, Hawkes' relentless drive to fight pushes them all to their limits—and tests whether courage and fear are really opposites. A gritty wartime story about what it takes to keep fighting when everything inside tells you to quit.

3 Minutes
3 pp · War

An unidentified aircraft streaks toward U.S. airspace at 780 mph, and Lt. Everard H. Caxton scrambles in his F-104A Starfighter to intercept before it reaches a city below. With only minutes to close the distance and determine friend from foe, Caxton races skyward in a tense pursuit that will test both his reflexes and his judgment.

The Hidden Enemy
7 pp · War

When saboteurs strike at an air base and destroy a B-58 Hustler—killing the heroic Major Buxton in the process—Captain Trask of Air Intelligence races to unmask the hidden enemy before more aircraft fall from the sky. Following a suspicious phone call and a desperate bid to escape, Trask pursues the suspect across the base in a tense confrontation that will determine whether the sabotage campaign can be stopped.
