Arcudi and Giangiordano's supernatural Civil War series marches deeper into darkness with this third chapter of "The Iron Noose." The cover, rendered by Giangiordano, is genuinely unsettling: a decomposing, skeletal rider leads a cavalry of red-eyed undead soldiers on equally bloodied horses out of a moonlit forest, their tattered uniforms still hinting at the war they apparently never left behind. Crabtree's muted, shadowy palette makes the glowing crimson eyes all the more striking — a grim procession that promises the horrors in this series run far deeper than any battlefield.
