“Enemy Contact!”

"Enemy Contact!" in Two-Fisted Tales #22 (1951) delivers a tense, grounded wartime drama from Harvey Kurtzman, with John Severin’s stark interior art and Will Elder’s precise inking bringing the weight of command and consequence to life. Cover by Kurtzman himself, the story follows Lt. Hall as he faces a brutal moral trial after a reckless officer’s decisions cost his squad their lives—only to be ordered back into the fray, where a single, devastating choice echoes beyond the battlefield.
