Laura spends most of her free time with the writer who lives in the flat above hers. She believes that when he becomes a success, she will be able to share more of his life. But when a childhood sweetheart shows up at the theatrical agency where she works, everything changes. She arranges for him to fill in for a comic who has just become ill, thinking he will flop and leave her alone. Instead, he becomes a hero when he saves the Beat Boys after they have a short-circuit in their electrical guitars. Events after that seem to ruin Laura's chances with her neighbor.
