Warren Ellis, Darick Robertson, and Rodney Ramos's Transmetropolitan rolls into issue #56 with a cover by Gene Ha that thrusts Spider Jerusalem's snarling face right into yours — his mismatched information-overload glasses reflecting cascading headlines and neon city noise in vivid greens and reds. It's an arresting, up-close portrait of barely contained fury, perfectly suited to the "Headlong" arc's middle chapter. Vertigo's 2002 run of this series was firing on all cylinders, and this issue makes absolutely clear that Spider hasn't mellowed one bit.
