“Gone Fishing”

In "Gone Fishing," the remnants of the Top 10 precinct face a crisis as most officers resign in protest, only to be lured back by Kemlo’s bold leadership and promises of accountability. As Joe Pi digs deeper into a shadowy software operation, new tensions rise—both personal and systemic—with Kemlo adopting a child, Dust Devil mourning his mother, and the new chief’s invasive surveillance turning the station into a digital panopticon. Written by Paul Di Filippo and brought to life with sharp, detailed art by Jerry Ordway—both interior and cover—this issue sharpens the series’ blend of bureaucratic satire and noir tension.

Most of the officers quit in a rage, but Kemlo woos them back by pointing out their role as police, promising a hearing with the commissioner at Grand Central, and urging "creative" compliance with the new regulations. Joe Pi continues his undercover investigation of illicit software. Kemlo and his wife adopt a child. And Dust Devil's mother dies. The new chief uses electronics to spy on his officers, even unto showers and locker rooms.
