Tomb of Dracula #2
Marvel's 2005 revival of The Tomb of Dracula hits its second issue with a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz that pulls no punches — a feral, red-eyed Dracula snarls from the center of the composition, fangs bared and long dark hair wild, while a second pale vampiric figure looms overhead with clawed hands outstretched in a genuinely unsettling tableau. The deep blacks and cool purples give the whole image a suffocating, nocturnal atmosphere that suits the Lord of the Undead perfectly. With Robert Rodi on script and art from Jamie Tolagson inked by Tom Palmer, this series clearly has serious creative firepower behind it.
