Tomb of Dracula #1
Marvel's 2004 revival of Tomb of Dracula opens with a cover by Bill Sienkiewicz that immediately sets a brooding, atmospheric tone — a bald, sunglasses-wearing vampire hunter strides forward armed with a sword, surrounded by a tense ensemble of fighters and allies, all rendered in moody purples and golds. Looming behind the group are two massive, unsettling eyes — one cool and pale, the other fiery and reptilian — suggesting a monstrous presence watching from the shadows. With Robert Rodi and Bruce Jones co-writing and Jamie Tolagson on interior art, this first issue promises a modern take on one of Marvel's most enduring horror titles.
