Tom Strong and the Planet of Peril #4

The fourth chapter of this six-part Vertigo miniseries crackles with roadway chaos, as the cover by Chris Sprouse and Karl Story stages a full-on motorcycle assault against a massive purple semi-truck under a lightning-split, blood-red sky. A bearded biker swings a heavy chain in the foreground while a gun-toting rider fires alongside him, and a defiant group — including a sword-wielding woman and what appears to be a chimpanzee — stands their ground atop the truck cab. Peter Hogan's script, brought to life by Sprouse, Story, and the vivid colors of Jordie Bellaire, promises exactly the kind of pulpy, high-velocity adventure this series has been delivering.
