Tom Mix pursues a dangerous gang known as the Red Masks after a reporter is murdered for photographing them without their masks—evidence the dying man entrusted to Tom before his last breath. When Tom takes the incriminating camera to a photographer to develop the film, the Red Masks set a deadly trap, locking both men in the darkroom and setting it ablaze. Tom must fight his way out of the inferno, outwit the gang's coordinated ambush, and ensure the murderers answer for their crimes.

When Jeeter throws a formal party and won't invite his horse Preposterous, the talkative mount sets out to needle him about every detail—from what "tails" and "soup and fish" really mean to the bewildering menu and guest list. When Rawhide Hotchkiss visits Cactus Pete to settle up after a disastrous stay at a hotel the cowpoke recommended, the two quickly descend into a comedy of accusations and insults—Pete demanding payment for his miserable experience while Rawhide counters with increasingly ridiculous excuses and comebacks. What starts as a serious debt becomes a battle of wits where neither man backs down, leading to absurd solutions and even more absurd "gifts" that only make things worse. In this 1952 tale, these two frontier characters prove that sometimes the best way to win an argument is to simply out-talk your opponent into submission.
