The fifth volume in the Dutch-language Tom Carbon series — subtitled De Knetterende Gek ("The Crackling Madman") — arrives in 2010 courtesy of Strip2000, with cover art by Luc Cromheecke. The cover sets a gleefully chaotic tone: a broadly grinning Tom Carbon in his red sweater stands front and center, apparently the cause of considerable mayhem, as a startled bus driver stares wide-eyed through a shattered windshield and a hapless bystander stumbles amid flying debris behind him. Cromheecke's expressive, rubbery linework gives the whole scene an infectious energy that fans of slapstick humor will find hard to resist.
