Tom and Jerry Summer Fun #1
In "Nutcracker (Not So) Sweet," Little Quacker’s crying hiccups and Jerry’s matching hiccup fit make for a comical case of synchronized distress. Desperate for a scare to cure themselves, they enlist Tom—reluctantly, since he’d rather nap—leading to a chase that’s less about danger and more about just getting him to move. Harvey Eisenberg’s expressive art brings the slapstick chaos to life, with his distinctive pencils defining the cover and the story’s energetic, mischievous spirit.

Little Quacker has a bad case of the "cry-cups" (like hiccups, but with crying), leading to Jerry getting an equally bad case of the hiccups. They both seek a bad scare to shock them out of their respective conditions and turn to Tom for a good, scary chase. But Tom's feeling too lazy to chase anyone, so the mouse and duck force the issue, to Tom's great suspicion and fright.
