Sixteen months after The Professor's attack on Tokyo, all known ESPers have been registered and assigned to a private academy under strict regulation of the use of their special powers. One such student is Ren Jomaku, a young girl embarrassed by her abilities and the social shunning she has experienced. On her first day at the academy, Ren winds up in the middle of a riot started by delinquent students and instigated by a mysterious outside agency.
