The ThunderCats: Lost series was announced by Dynamite and Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products in December 2024, with writer Ed Brisson and artist Rapha Lobosco — who had first collaborated on the ThunderCats: Apex special — reuniting under editor Nate Cosby. Issue #4's path to readers was unusually turbulent: originally solicited for June 4, 2025 through Diamond Comics Distributors, it was pushed to July 9 and then again to July 30, 2025, by which point Dynamite had migrated its distribution entirely to Lunar Distribution — a mid-stream logistical shift that also caused a cover-artist credit update in the solicitation copy.
