The Dynamite Entertainment ThunderCats ongoing series was first announced at New York Comic Con 2023 by Dynamite CEO Nick Barrucci, with the creative team of writer Declan Shalvey, artist Drew Moss, and letterer Jeff Eckleberry attached from the outset. The series launched in early 2024 under editor Nate Cosby and proved popular enough to spawn an expanding 'ThunderVerse' of tie-in titles — including ThunderCats: Cheetara (Soo Lee/Domenico Carbone), ThunderCats: Lost, and a SilverHawks series by Ed Brisson and George Kambadais announced at NYCC 2024. By the time issue #21 shipped in November 2025, the main title had reached its fourth distinct story arc and was operating alongside multiple concurrent companion series.
